I am lyrcist/singer/rapper/spoken-word poet who for the past ten years has been trying to get a great band together or find that one musical genius composer/producer who could do it all. My work has been compared to Chuck D and the like, my vocals have been compared to Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and a few others. I do ALL styles of music. I've jammed with musician all around the Bay Area,CA, all ages, and have jammed also in Kuta, Bali on vacation. Lyrics and songs have all ways come naturally to me,(I've been singing and memorizing songs since I was four)...what has always come, or has never come naturally to me is a band. I'm looking for a group of musicians/ or one music genius creator as good as myself, I know I'm good and talented(one musician I use to jam with, till he moved back home, called me the philospher king), in San Francisco or willing to travel into San Francisco to jam/practice. You should be a master of your instrument, not a student, you could be still learning, but only learning from yourself, gone is the classroom walls to be replaced with the world. I'm looking to create something that is a mixture of old bands like Sly and the Family, the Doors, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Beastie Boys, Tribe, Arrested D, and everybody else mixed together(including the Beatles) or more like a modern day CYMANDE. I need either a genius music producer/composer who can create all the music for my vocals or a full modern band able to play all styles. My work has always gotten good to great responses- my lyrics are deep with concepts of wisdom and compassion, love and truth. In my goal to write lyrics I realized I can't voice no BS, there's enough of that. I'm one of those who is only truly comfortable alone or on stage, not in the crowd, not in the audience. Can you help? I'm just looking for the chance.
